Trail Rides - Lessons - Clinics

The Lajitas Equestrian Center offers a variety of services; including trail rides, riding lessons, basic and advanced riding clinics, free pony rides for children and boarding. Our manager, Karen Fitzgerald, has been a student of the horse for a lifetime, starting on a Shetland pony and moving up. Training horses and their riders is her passion. She has won numerous barrel racing and pole bending awards and set an arena record. Day working on cattle ranches in rough country and along with some roping and colt starting gives her a well-rounded understanding of horses to share with others. She is a member of the American Quarter Horse Association (AQHA) and the American Paint Horse Association (APHA).

Our well bred, pretty horses are trained in various events and ranch and cattle work. We strive to match horse and rider to make your experience an enjoyable one.We invite you to choose from one of the following trail rides through stunning scenery or we can customize the perfect ride for your party, no matter what the level of experience. For something different from a trail ride, you can take lessons, ranging from the basics to more advanced riding such as barrel racing and pole bending. We also have multi-day riding clinics for basic riding, gymkhana, barrel racing, pole bending and cutting/working cattle.
